Good Citizen Assembly

Today ALL of our class attended the Good Citizen Assembly for trimester 1.  They learned how to draw using shapes. Hoy dia TODOS Los estudiantes asistieron una as asamblea de buenos ciudadanos.  Aprendieron a dibujar usando formas.

Big Universe

Hello Parents!
I am so excited to let you know that 10 of our students now have access to a different website called Big Universe.  The kids can log in using their AR number and password.  If they have not memorized it let me know and I can send that information home.

Si no se lo han memorizado dejenme saber y les puedo mandar la informacion.

Hello Parents!

The students want to have a Halloween celebration on Tuesday, October 29 from 2:10-3:10.  I am looking for parent volunteers so we can make this happen!  Please email, call, or let me know if you would be interested in volunteering.  The kids would be so happy!

Today a yellow paper was sent home with MANY links.  Also, a card was attached to each child's paper.  Please have your child log-in and play.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello Parents!

Here we are at the middle of the first trimester!  Our students have started to wake up and realize they ARE readers, writers and mathematicians!  We have noticed so many positive changes in the last two weeks.  I hope the students are as excited as we are to come to school every day! 

This website will help you keep up to date on the classroom.  It also provides many important links for learning that your child can use at home.  Some important things to note:

ALL of the students have a password for More Starfall and First in Math.

Only 10 of the students have a password for RAZ kids

Please use these as a resource at home.  We are almost to the end of trimester 1 and our goal is to have all of the students reading at level “E”!  If you are unsure of what level your child is reading please email me and let us know. 

I will send home a letter with user name and passwords on Monday.  PLEASE check your child’s TIGER BINDER for this information.

We will update this blog at least 1 time per month.  Check back for updates!

Saludos Padres,

Aquí estamos en la mitad del primer trimestre!  Nuestros estudiantes han empezado a despertarse y darse cuenta de que si pueden leer, escribir, y ser matemáticos!  Hemos notado muchos cambios positivos en las dos ultimas semanas.  Espero que los niños están felices todos los días de ir a la escuela como nosotros. 

Esta pagina les ayudara estar informado de lo que esta pasando en el salón.  Le dará muchas importantes “links” de aprendizaje para su hijo(a).  Algunas cosas importantes para notar:

TODOS los estudiantes tiene claves y nombres de usuario para More Starfall y First in Math

Solo 10 estudiantes tiene claves para RAZ Kids

Por favor usen todos los recursos en casa.  Ya casi llegamos al final del primer trimestre y nuestra meta es de tener todos los estudiantes leyendo el nivel “E” de lectura.  Si usted no esta seguro en que nivel esta su hijo(a) mándeme un email y le dejara saber.

Mandare una nota con claves y nombres de usuarios este lunes.  Por favor revise el “TIGER BINDER” para esta información importante.

First Week / Primera Semana

Welcome!

It was wonderful meeting our special 19 first graders this week.  We have enjoyed learning about each and everyone one of them!  We were able to meet our families on Back to School Night on Wednesday.  We hope it was an informative night for all!  We look forward to seeing your children develop into fluent readers, writers, and mathematicians as the year progresses.  

"I'm a Bucket Filler!" bracelet:

This week we worked on creating a positive classroom and school environment.  We taught the students about the "invisible bucket" we all carry around with us.  When we do and say positive things to others we fill our own bucket as well as those around us.  We learned that we ALL make mistakes, but we can fix the hurt we have caused by using the "4-square apology." If your child had a bracelet on their wrist this week that means that we saw them being a bucket filler!  If you are interested in the "bucket filler" idea please visit http://www.bucketfillers101.com/faqs.php.  

Tiger Binders:

We began taking our Tiger Binders home and bringing them back to school.  Please remember it must brought back to school daily or your child will not be able to fill in their behavior chart and may miss out on important reminders.  

Where's Mrs. Davis?

Mrs. Davis is at home waiting for their new arrival to join them.  She was not feeling well on Friday and so we think (as I type this) this baby will be coming SOON!  But, even while at home Mrs. Davis was thinking of your children and planning for them.  

Headphones:

Some students have brought in their headphones, please continue to send them in.  We will be using the computers this week and it would be ideal if every student had their headphones.
